Moose
The moose is the largest member of the deer family. An animal that can weigh over a 1000 lbs., stand 8 feet tall, support a rack 5 feet wide and still be able to slip effortlessly through the bush without a sound.
Makes for an exciting hunt eh!
Remote
Our remote location in Northwestern Ontario, Canada is ideal for moose hunting. Woman River Camp has hundreds of kilometers of old and new logging roads nearby. As well as opportunities to hunt the water’s edge on our main lake system and our portage lakes.
Archery
Our archery hunt is my favourite. There is nothing more exhilarating than calling in a bull moose to within 40 yards! Calling on calm days can have moose replying from miles away and then show up unannounced! Most often larger bulls are harvested as the archery season coincides with the rut and the dominant bulls are eager for as much “action” as possible. Luring the animal within shooting range without being winded by a moose’s monstrous nose is the biggest challenge. Our hunters have harvested two Pope & Young moose in the past three years.

While calling is still a valuable tactic, we utilize glassing clear cuts, conducting drives, and hunting over known trails to put hunters on animals. Most of the time you aren’t up close and personal with your trophy. You better hope you aren’t winded or spotted. Our rifle hunters have an excellent success rate!
