Rain Rain Rain and more Rain

No worries about fire restrictions up here at Woman River Camp. We are presently sitting with the second highest water levels seen in my 20 years in the north. This morning, Medicine Rock was not visible on Little Woman Lake!!!!!! We have built yet another boardwalk this time to the dock. Water is roaring over Big Falls, Snakeweed Falls, and out of the Woman River.

Fishing has been consistently good. Lots of big Walleye mainly caught on minnows relatively shallow. Northern Pike are still cruising the narrows and the smallmouth are feeding heavily.

Bear baits are active and the blueberries are just becoming ripe. Not many camp projects are being completed with the wet weather. We do have a pile of metal roofing ready to go when the weather cooperates.

Lots of wildlife being seen on the shorelines as well as along the roads. I personally saw nine moose on the way to and from Red Lake the other evening!

Remember your rubber boots and good rain gear!
